Kos Greece

Kos or Cos is an island in Greece, located in the Dodecanese island chain in the southeastern Aegean Sea, off the coast of Turkey's Anatolia region. The main town of the island and the municipal seat is Kos town. The island features a 14th-century fortress at the entrance of its harbor, built in 1315 by the Knights Hospitaller, and another from the Byzantine era in Antimachia. The Ancient Agora, or ancient marketplace of Kos, was considered one of the largest in the ancient world. Excavations on the western side have uncovered rooms with mosaic floors depicting beast fights, a theme that was quite popular in Kos.
