31.12.2025 Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Kerak – Petra / 271 km
Breakfast. We leave the capital and continue exploring Jordan, starting with Madaba – the City of Mosaics – and Saint George's Basilica, where in 1896 a mosaic map was discovered in the church floor, dating back to the 6th century. The two million colored stone pieces depict hills, valleys, and cities of the Holy Land. We head to Mount Nebo, located 800m above sea level. According to Jewish tradition, this is the mountain from which Moses saw the Promised Land – the Holy Land – but was not allowed to enter it. The journey continues through Wadi Moujeb to Kerak, where we’ll visit the castle dating from the Byzantine and Mamluk periods.

01.01.2026 Petra – Full Day in the Ancient City
After breakfast, we head to the Nabataean capital – Petra, also known as the Rose City, lost in the desert for over 1,000 years. Jordan’s greatest national treasure, Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 2,000 years of history and 800 monuments. Some archaeologists consider it the eighth wonder of the ancient world. Entry to the city is through a 1 km-long gorge flanked by tall rocks with fascinating colors and formations. The temples are carved directly into the rock, the most famous being “The Treasury” or Al Khazneh, carved in Hellenistic style, 42 meters high, and known for the final scenes of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. You’ll have the entire day to explore this gem of the ancient world.
