Tanzania Safari – Escorted Group Tour

We will travel to Lake Manyara, a saltwater lake located in the Great Rift Valley.

Upon arrival, we will enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. The park features a wide variety of landscapes, including jungle, marshland, and savannah, as well as a diverse range of wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, elephants, gazelles, hippos, monkeys, and around 400 different bird species.

Located 125 km west of the city of Arusha, Lake Manyara National Park is one of the oldest and most densely populated wildlife sanctuaries in East Africa. The park's main habitat is the shallow saltwater lake, which occupies 77% of the total 330 square kilometers. Its most famous spectacle is the tree-climbing lions, often seen lounging among the acacia branches. Other animals found in the park include buffaloes, elephants, leopards, baboons, impalas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, ostriches, and hippos. Commonly referred to as a birdwatcher’s paradise, the park is home to over 400 bird species typical to the savannas and rivers of East Africa. Waterbirds such as pelicans, spoonbills, Egyptian geese, and migratory flamingos can be spotted here.

We will then transfer to the hotel for check-in, lunch, and dinner.

After breakfast, we will depart for Serengeti.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and recently proclaimed a world wonder, Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The park is located about 320 km northwest of Arusha, stretching from the Ngorongoro Mountains to Lake Victoria in the west, covering a total area of 14,763 square kilometers. Rightly named "Endless Plains" by the Maasai people, it was declared a protected area in 1921 and gazetted as a National Park in 1951. It features a variety of landscapes including plains, lakes, hills, and rock outcrops called kopjes.

The main safari areas in the Serengeti include the Seronera Valley, the Western Corridor, and Northern Serengeti. The Seronera Valley, located in the central part of the park and blessed with permanent surface water, attracts a high concentration of wildlife year-round. Common animals spotted here include lions, buffaloes, impalas, hippos, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and a wide variety of bird species. Serengeti is renowned for hosting the largest concentration of plains animals in the world.

Upon arrival, we will enjoy a game drive, followed by hotel check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, we will return to the savanna for an evening game drive.

The following day, we will spend the entire day on safari in this species-rich national park, with a lunch break during the game drive.

After breakfast, we will be transferred through the Ngorongoro Highlands to the lodge where we will stay. The crater spans over 300 square kilometers, has an elevation of approximately 2,286 meters at its rim, and is home to black rhinos, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and herds of buffalo, antelope, and wildebeest.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a pioneering experiment in multiple land use, where people (the Maasai), their livestock, and wildlife coexist and share the same protected habitat—only the Ngorongoro and Empakai craters are reserved exclusively for wildlife. The Ngorongoro Crater, the main attraction in the area, is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Black rhinos can be seen here, and with a bit of luck, cheetahs and leopards as well. The rainy season lasts from November to May. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy at your leisure.

The next day, we will descend more than 600 meters into the crater for a tour (approx. 6 hours). We will explore forested areas inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area where flamingos can be seen, and the open savanna where lions hunt. Lunch will be served picnic-style inside the crater.

After breakfast, we will travel to Tarangire National Park, a natural gem famous for its impressive concentration of elephants and landscapes dominated by giant baobab trees. The park covers an area of approximately 2,850 km² and stretches along the Tarangire River, the main water source for wildlife during the dry season. This area hosts a diverse range of species, including lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, and several rare species such as the oryx and greater kudu. It is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with over 550 recorded species, ranging from waterfowl to birds of prey. Tarangire is less crowded than other parks in Tanzania, offering an authentic safari experience.

We will enjoy an unforgettable game drive, followed by lunch at the lodge.

After breakfast, we will depart for Arusha.

We will have lunch at a local restaurant (Cultural Heritage Center or similar), after which we will be transferred to the hotel for check-in.
