Meeting with the representative at Bucharest Airport, check-in and boarding for the flight to Hurghada.

Upon arrival, we will be greeted by the local representative and transferred to the hotel for check-in.

On the morning of March 2nd, we will be transferred to Aswan, where we will begin a 3-night cruise on the Nile River. Today, we will visit the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Temple of the Goddess Isis at Philae, one of the favorite temples among archaeologists. Lunch and dinner will be served on the cruise ship.

The next day, we will disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of the gods Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god from the Ptolemaic dynasty. We will return to the ship and continue our journey to Edfu, where we will disembark to visit the Temple of Horus, known as the best-preserved Egyptian temple. This temple was discovered in the mid-19th century, having been completely buried until then.

On the third day of the cruise, the ship will sail to Luxor, the place with the highest concentration of monuments and ancient ruins. After breakfast, we will disembark and visit the monuments on the west bank of the Nile. The Valley of the Kings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, contains 63 tombs and burial chambers belonging to various pharaohs and nobles of Ancient Egypt, including Tutankhamun. After visiting the Temple of the Goddess Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh of Antiquity, we will explore the world’s largest temple complex: the Luxor and Karnak Temples, both built on the site of the ancient city of Thebes, famous in the Greek and Roman worlds since antiquity.

On March 5th, after breakfast, we will disembark and be transferred to Cairo. The journey will take approximately 7 hours.

The next day, we will take a half-day tour of the Giza Pyramids. We will visit the exterior of the Pyramids and the statue of the Sphinx. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and also the only one to remain intact to this day. Most Egyptologists believe that the Sphinx dates back to the reign of Pharaoh Menkaure (2532-2503 BC) and that the facial features of the enormous statue replicate those of the pharaoh. Optionally, in the afternoon, you can also visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses a vast collection of ancient artifacts, with an impressive collection of over 120,000 artifacts and art objects dating from the periods of Pharaohs Thutmose III, Thutmose IV, Amenhotep II, and Hatshepsut.

For March 7th, we propose an optional excursion to Alexandria, during which you will visit the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, Pompey’s Pillar, the Qaitbay Citadel, the Serapeum Temple, the Roman Theater, and the Library (exterior).
